Winter in Alaska

January has been an extremely cold month. We had nearly a week of negative 40 degree temperatures, and the rest of the month has been well below zero. We don't do any outdoor recreation much past negative 10 so we've spent all of this month inside. A good portion of the day is dark, so it's a great month to work on indoor hobbies and try to stay sane. February and March bring more sun and sometimes milder temperatures so we are glad to see January come to an end.
