Ellie's Letter to Santa

We don't make a big deal about Santa Claus, because we don't want to detract from the true meaning of Christmas. At the same time, we don't want our kids to be the nerdy homeschoolers who shatter some child's Christmas world by telling them there is no Santa. We walk a fine line. Of course for Ellie this would be a bit more complicated. After all, she claims she saw Santa at Fred's. It's tough to argue with the reasoning of a 4 year old.
So a few days before Christmas, Ellie brought pen and paper to Eric and asked him to help her write a letter to Santa. In her own words:
Dear Santa and Mrs. Claus,
I would like: a dress, a pair of shoes, a pair of mitten gloves for Christmas.
Would you please send a lot of presents.
Please let us know.
Thank you.

"please let us know" We loved this! Maybe Santa sends out conformation codes and tracking numbers in this modern age.
